REQUIEM for a CEO is a piece directed by Pau Berga and Mario Zamora around the photography project STATE OF MATTER /MATTER OF STATE, by Mario Zamora. It serves as a gesture to reflect on the relationship we, as consumers, maintain with our environment.

This audiovisual essay records an action-ceremony held in the village of Almedíjar in 2019. In it, a corporate portrait of Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman Emeritus of the Nestlé Group—a corporation with a profound impact on the planet’s water resources—is left at the mercy of natural elements in the reservoir that enables irrigation and sustains life within the community.
